HEDP
The workhorse phosphonate for scale and corrosion control
Product Description
A high-performance organophosphonic acid that delivers scale inhibition and corrosion protection from a single molecule. It works by threshold effect — the molecule adsorbs onto the surface of scale microcrystals and stops them growing — while a thin protective film forms on metal surfaces to slow corrosion. Stable at high temperature and under chlorine, effective at very low dosage, and synergistic with dispersant polymers, zinc salts and other phosphonates.
- Scale inhibition at low dosage — threshold effect keeps CaCO₃ and CaSO₄ in solution
- Stable under chlorine, bleach and elevated temperature
- Chelates calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc ions
- Synergistic with dispersant polymers, zinc salts and other phosphonates
